3 Little Ceramic Bears, a Pumpkin, and a Whole Lot of Joy
Good Friday morning, ladies, and thank you so much for stopping by! I’m on my second cup of coffee…’ya know, there are some days when you need a half cup more to get the day started!
In reality, I probably needed a little more coffee because I was enjoying a delicious piece of pumpkin danish Kringle for breakfast! It’s from Trader Joe’s, and if you’re anything like me and have seen it in the store and wondered what it was all about, well, let me tell you…it’s out of this world! Not to mention, it pairs well with my dark roast coffee!! Maybe too well!!! LOL
So ladies, before we head into the weekend, let’s think about one little thing that brought us joy this week. Just one moment when we stopped what we were doing and smiled or giggled. Let me tell you about my joy, and I’d love for you to share yours too!
I’m going to take you back thirty-six years to October of 1990. I had just gotten home from work and was starting to fix dinner. My husband came home shortly after and had a shopping bag in hand. I was very curious as to what could possibly be in there!
He told me he had a surprise for me! Now, this was our first fall season as a married couple, and my husband knew I loved to decorate.
Well, out of this bag came a box, and inside this box were three adorable little ceramic bears, all dressed up in their Halloween costumes. Alongside these little characters stood this tiny pumpkin house where, of course, the three little bears lived!

This little gift meant so much to me. More than I would have ever imagined.
Because once my husband and I started a family, our children looked forward every fall to those bears and their pumpkin house coming out along with the other decorations. Our children loved playing with that little set.
In fact, to this day, every year when I take it out of storage, whenever our kids are home, they will mention how much they enjoyed it when they were younger.
This was the moment of joy I felt this week when I was decorating the house for fall.
It was the moment I unpacked those cute little bears and their pumpkin house and placed them on my table in the family room.
Every year, they bring me the same joy. If for only a few minutes, I look at that little set and think about all of the smiles it has brought to my family over the years.
Who knew that this thoughtful decoration from my husband would bring such happiness to me throughout my life?
I hope you found some pockets of joy this week.
Take care, and I’ll talk to you on Monday.
