Fall Decorating Mini-Series ~ Week 2: Tablescape Ideas
Happy Friday Eve, ladies! We had another chilly night here! But we have yet to turn the heat on, and I’m fine with that. Have you warmed your house up yet for the season?
There’s a reason why I have lots of blankets in the house! They’re perfect for those early fall nights when the temperatures have dropped, but not enough that your teeth are chattering! LOL
So here we are…Part 2 of the fall decorating mini-series. I hope you liked last week’s post, Pumpkin Floral Centerpiece.
Today we’re talking about tablescapes, specifically for the dining room table. I really enjoy decorating my dining room and kitchen tables for the seasons. I like to switch out placemats, candle holders, and centerpieces.
It’s rather simple to go from a ho-hum, empty tabletop to a festive-looking one. And it doesn’t have to cost a lot of money to make your tables look beautfiful!
Now, I’ll be honest with you. We don’t eat at the dining room table every night. That room is mainly used for holidays and special occasions. Although I do enjoy sitting at the table in the mornings, working on my laptop and sipping my hot dark roast coffee! So, I still like to have it look cozy and inviting!
Let’s get started, shall we? Below is a picture of the “plain” dining room table. I mean, it’s a nice table that we have had for many, many years. But I feel it looks boring with nothing on it!

SNAP my fingers, and presto…we created this pretty fall tablescape that looks homey and welcoming! And all it took was a seasonal table runner and a pumpkin floral centerpiece.

Abracadabra! Let’s take a look at the picture of the table after adding candles. The scene instantly becomes cozier, and you have that warm feeling of wanting to sit down for a delicious dinner! Geez, all of a sudden I’m craving my mom’s pot roast, homemade mashed potatoes with gravy, and all of the other yummy sides! LOL

So, when you think about it, we went from a “cold-looking” table to one that made us want to sit down and have a special homemade dinner! And all we did was add a few decorations.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this second part of the fall decorating mini-series on A Cup for the Next Chapter.
Enjoy the rest of your Thursday, and I’ll see you tomorrow.
Thanks for being here! I can just smell that rich, hearty pot roast…anyone else smell it? LOL
