Wednesday TLC: Why Bootcut Jeans Have a Front-Row Seat in My Closet

Ladies, how in the world did we already make it to Wednesday? Not to mention, I just took a look at that darn calendar and, holy cow, we’re smack in the middle of October! Yes, time is just flying by, my friends!

Well, I had a really great cup of coffee this morning, and I’m ready to get this day rolling on!

Last night, I was doing some thinking about the blog, and I’ve decided that I want Wednesdays to be my TLC day – a chance to have some fun with fashion, beauty, skincare, shopping, and the little things that make us feel good about ourselves. It’s a great way to break up the week. So, there’s that! 🤣

Okay, Chelle, stop rambling! A little self-talk never hurt anyone! Am I right?

Today, I’m going to share my favorite type of jeans, the ones that have earned a front-row seat in my closet…the bootcut jeans!

I’ve tried on just about every style of jeans on the market. Gee, who knew there were SO many?! From wide-leg to skinny, barrel to boyfriend, I’ve tried them all, but I’ve always had a thing for the bootcut jeans.

I love bootcut jeans for lots of different reasons, but comfort is at the top of my list. This style earns an A+ in my book! They’re fitted through the hips and thighs, with just a slight flare that begins at the knee and widens toward the bottom hem.

They’re perfect for wearing with boots in the fall and winter because of the wider leg opening.

Bootcut jeans are usually available in various rises: high, mid, and low. Now, I don’t know about you, but as I’ve gotten older, I have found myself staying far, far away from low-rise jeans. That rise creates the cutest little muffin top, and that has NEVER been a good look on me! 🤣

Mid-rise jeans are nice, but high-rise bootcut jeans? Well, let me just say, we’re best friends!

They also come in different shades and rinses, and some have fading, whiskering and distressing – another name for those intentional holes in your jeans! I prefer a dark rinse because I think it makes me look taller and a little slimmer. I don’t particularly like jeans with a lot of fading or whiskering because I think they draw attention to areas I’d rather not highlight!

Another thing I love about them is how versatile they are. I can wear them with a tee and sneakers on a morning when I’m meeting my sister for coffee, or dress them up with my favorite V-neck blouse and wedge sandals for a night out with my husband!

When looking for a top to wear with my bootcut jeans, I prefer fitted or semi-fitted styles because they balance the outfit. I am not a fan of baggy or oversized styles. They just seem to make me feel frumpy. Don’t we just love that word, “frumpy”? I can picture my girls rolling their eyes! 🙄

Ladies, if you’re wondering what type of footwear I like to wear with my bootcut jeans, well, let me tell you. It’s usually something with a bit of a heel, whether that’s a sandal, boot, or sneaker.

There are two reasons for the small heel. First, I have flat feet, and I need some type of wedge or heel in my shoe for comfort. I can never walk around in those ballerina flats you see so many women wearing. They do not feel good on my feet!

The second reason I like a heel is because I think it makes my legs look longer – or at least I’d like to think it does! LOL

So now you can see why bootcut jeans have earned their place front and center in my closet!

Do you have a “star” in your wardrobe? I’d love to hear what your favorite style of jeans is!

Thanks so much for being here! Don’t forget to stop by tomorrow for Week 3 of my fall decorating mini-series here on A Cup for the Next Chapter.

Enjoy your day! I’ll talk to you soon!
